The Body For Life Diet and Exercise Plan

The Body for Life Plan is a 12 week diet and exercise program to lose weight and sculpt the body.  The plan was designed by Bill Phillips, who also created EAS, a company that manufactures nutritional supplements.

The Body for Life Plan consists of a high protein diet and regular exercise program.  Participants in the plan have reported losing one to two pounds per week while losing body fat and gaining muscle.

This plan, like most successful ones, is all about making a change in lifestyle. The diet component of the plan calls for eating six meals a day.  Each meal contains one portion of protein and one portion of carbohydrates.  Adding a vegetable to two of the meals is also required.  The diet emphasizes portion control  rather than calories consumed.

Eating six meals a day should prevent hunger pains, but because vegetables and fruits are not included as much in this plan as in other diet plans, it is necessary to supplement this diet with vitamins.

The exercise part of the Body for Life Plan requires a vigorous cardio workout three times a week, twenty minutes per session.  The program also includes strength training, which consists of lifting weights three days per week for 45 minutes per session.

Wondering what you'll eat on this diet plan?  Here is a peek at the meal plan for Day One:

Breakfast: Breakfast Burrito, Glass of water, Coffee

Snack: Myoplex® nutrition bar, Glass of water

Lunch: Turkey sandwich, 1 apple, Glass of water

Snack: Myoplex® shake, Glass of water

Dinner: Grilled Steak, 1 portion steamed mixed vegetables, 1 small sweet potato, Glass of water

Snack: Rice pudding, Glass of water

On day seven of the plan, you may eat whatever you choose.
